Blessed weekend!

Such a lovely Friday afternoon: Christmas songs, candles, a shimmering star in the window, and the weekend ahead. And good news in the morning! It's so nice to go into the weekend with good news. :-)

I have a Christmas party tomorrow, and I'm making my creamy bean dip. It's the first recipe I ever came up with on my own, and I guard it jealously. :-D But it's yummy, and I can't wait to see what people think of it (most of them probably haven't had bean dip before; it's not commonly known here outside the vegan/vegetarian circles). I also made the most luscious chocolate-banana cake the other day. It's so juicy and chocolatey that I almost fainted when I tasted it - no, seriously, I did. ;-) I'm making another one for mom for Christmas for sure.

Finished another round of revisions -minor this time- for an YA. It's so strange how these tiny clunky bits can slip into your manuscript and take you by surprise even after your hundreth read. And because they're not actually mistakes, nobody else notices them either! In any case, this manuscript is now all smooth and shiny again, although I'm naturally plagued by a thousand "what if the MC did this instead of that" and "man, this minor character is a bit annoying" thoughts. Then again, that's nothing new. It goes with the territory, methinks.

Haven't been beading much; I'm craving for a new project but I have no idea what I should make. I did make a couple more pairs of those chains & crystals earrings, though. Here's one:


Oh, and I got the loveliest smoky blue glass pearls from my local bead shop. Hmmm...these definitely speak to me...maybe combine them into a lovely chunky bracelet with metal components...


Well, I've been Christmas shopping today, so I think I'll dig out the wrapping paper and the rosettes now. And maybe another piece of that cake...
