Long time no blogging.
Seriously, I would have, but in the beginning of February, I got both a new apartment and a new job as a teacher (on top of my other job, so I work two jobs right now). So, I've been basically just grading papers and doing lesson plans amidst a mountain of boxes and spending the rest of the time in my other job.
I'm slowly getting back to normal life now, though, and it is great to put all the moving stuff behind (even though my new apartment is great, I hate moving, absolutely despise it because it is just so exhausting). I've been writing on and off even during this busy time, but as a new teacher, I can only sigh wistfully at the memory of those long, leisurely afternoons filled with writing. I teach in a gymnasium, which is an academically-inclined preparatory school for university (not sure there are similar schools in the US?), and it means a lot of work. It's been very rewarding and lovely, though, despite all the work. Teaching is definitely "me", and I'm already anxious to get a job for next year (this one ends with the current term in June).
Currently, I have two writing projects going on. Or, actually, I have more, but these are the main ones I'm trying to concentrate on. My quiet/literary/mystery/reallydunno YA is again going through a plot overhaul. This time, I'm bringing in more mystery and a touch of supernatural - but just a touch. The other project is a funny tween/lower YA reality-based fantasy, which is one of my favorite genres to write. Working two jobs is awfully stressful, though, and I can't wait to get a permanent job as a teacher, so that I could spend more time writing.
My crafty stuff has been packed away, but I've been snooping around the boxes lately. I have a new project in mind, but I'm not sure how to do it yet. I'm thinking of cracking open the papercrafting supplies box, though...
