Happy 30th of April! In my neck of the woods, this is the eve of a national holiday, May Day. It's usually celebrated with balloons, streamers, various carnival thingamajigs, barbeques, and lots of mead and doughnuts.
Me - I'm going to stay firmly in because this morning as I woke up, I had a humongous flu. My throat is so sore that speaking is painful, and my nose is getting heavier with snot (sorry) every passing minute. I have one class to teach today, and I plan to make them do a group presentation so that my voice can rest. I do hope I'll be better on Monday so that I don't have to bring in a substitute. Anyway, I know some students are going to cut the class as it is an afternoon class on May Day Eve and their minds are already in partying. So, it might be a smaller-than-usual group, but then, those who are there are bound to be quite rowdy - we're talking of a boy-heavy group of 16-year-olds after all. Methinks I'll need a full packet of cough drops. ;-)
I've posted a new tutorial on my site: Make a funky necklace. I make this vintage necklace in it:
However, you can use whatever type of beads you want to and get a very different look.
I love making these tutorials because I remember when I was starting out, it was hard to find well-illustrated and clear instructions. I'm aiming for my tuts to be both, and hopefully you'll agree. :-) Go ahead and make your Mom a surprise present this year!
